Just Like The Beatles

from Country Mountain EP feat. Boz Boorer by BEAD

/

about

Co-written with my friend Clare Murphy the original idea was hers and started off as a couple of verses with no music. After sitting down with an acoustic guitar and getting Clare to sing, I worked out the chords and later came up with the chorus and title and recorded a rough version at home with Clare singing backing vocals. Later, I added drums with Dave Ruffy and guitars with Boz Boorer in Portugal.

lyrics

Taking it down and taking it slow
Where I’m going, I don’t know
Got my hat on and my brand new pair of boots
Heading Southbound, listening to the blues

Every time I see your face
Well it takes me back to that place
But your smile is fading fast
Now I need this journey to last
All my life (Don’t know why)

We’re gonna live like rock n roll
Stand up and tell ‘em where to go
We’re gonna live like rock n roll
Just like The Beatles and The Stones
Rolling Stones

Taking it down and taking it slow
Where I’m going, I just don’t know
Got my hat on and a brand new pair of boots
Driving Southbound, listening to the blues
All my life (Don’t know why)

We’re gonna live like rock n roll
Stand up and tell ‘em where to go
We’re gonna live like rock n roll
Just like The Beatles and The Stones
Rolling Stones
